           Exams

Windsor English helps students to prepare for both Cambridge and IELTS English exams. It is not obligatory to take any of the exams, although many students choose to. Below are some exams you can sit:

Cambridge

                Exams (ESOL)

  • KET - Key English Test

    • An exam which lets you explore the language. It allows students to acquire the first English skills, ask and give directions, ask questions, and communicate in familiar situations.

  • PET - Preliminary English Test

    • Supposes everyday written and spoken skills. Students will manage a range of practical every day situations including work and study.

  • FCE - First Certificate in English

    • FCE supposes a knowledge of English for many practical everyday purposes, including business and study. FCE should test English for use in clerical, secretarial/managerial work. You would be able to deal with paperwork, telephone, general office duties, etc.

  • CAE - Certificate in Advanced English

    • Success in this exam means you can participate in meetings and discussions, expressing opinions clearly, and be able to understand and produce texts of various types, including business letters and reports.

  • CPE - Certificate in Proficiency in English

    • Proficiency is the highest level of the Cambridge examinations and shows progress above an already very good level. Knowledge of vocabulary and grammar and an ability to use the language in real contexts are the features of this level.

IELTS is the International English Language Testing System. It tests – listening, reading, writing and speaking. The test scores candidates in a range from 1 (non-user) to 9 (expert user). Scores of 6.5 and above are usually accepted by academic institutions worldwide as demonstrating various levels of English attainment.

Windsor English is not an examination centre - all Cambridge & IELTS exams are taken externally.
